Designed for reliable performance, NHBB's full line of Airframe Control Bearings are manufactured and inspected in accordance with Aerospace Standards AS7949. They possess a low coefficient of friction and low torque, which are suitable performance factors for applications with oscillating motion or slow intermittent rotation. Precision construction assures excellent radial and axial positioning. SAE 52100 chrome steel with cadmium plating is standard; 440C stainless steel is also available. Unless otherwise specified, these bearings have a full ball complement design.

Spherical bearings from NHBB address the unique operating parameters faced by engineers in the aerospace, defense, and other high technology industries. We customize bearings to work outside the standard spectrum of load, temperature, fatigue resistance, and angular misalignment.
Our Astro Division developed the first liner system for spherical bearings that qualifies to the threshold of 100,000 cycles for bearing life (industry standard AS81820 Type 'A'). Our customized and standard bearings also include swaged, split ball, spit race, fracture race, snap assembled, and loader slot.
NHBB understands the importance of choosing materials to match your operating environment. We design bearings using cadmium-free stainless steel, titanium, Inconel® 718 (a nickel-chromium based super-alloy for high-temperature applications), and Stellite™ (cobalt and nickel-based alloy), in both metal-to-metal and self-lubricating PTFE-lined versions.

NHBB customizes rod ends to hold heavier loads, operate at temperature extremes, provide stronger fatigue resistance and meet requirements for angular misalignment. Our stainless steel cadmium-free rod ends are the industry’s first to meet ACBG standards AS81935/6, /7, /8 and /9, offering equivalent dimensions and performance to cadmium-plated rod ends without the potential risks and regulatory burdens—including European Union environmental regulations—associated with cadmium.
